The website of Shanghai Jiao Tong University has been updated. And one of the photos on the homepage is about my ACM-ICPC team… orz The photo was captured at ACM-ICPC World Finals 2005. Actually in the photo, we were writing a program that just print out the sample output (and it certainly got an ‘Wrong Answer’) in the last 10 minutes of the contest

来到 Cornell 已经一周多了。Ithaca 是一个漂亮的北方小镇，位于 New York State 的中部。Ithaca 坐落于群山之中，而 Cornell 就位于山上，因此从校园里很多地方都能够远望整个城镇。不过多山的地形也给大家出行带来了许多不便。由于 downtown 位于山下，在没有车的情况下，一般只能选在坐 bus 或者走去 downtown （骑自行车爬山太痛苦了……）。而且 bus 的班次相当少，时间也不灵活。从 Cornell Campus 走去 downtown 大概需要半个小时——偶尔去去还可以，不过每天去在时间上就受不了了……
第一年我住的是学校的房子。这里一套房子有4个卧室、1个厨房和2个厕所，住4个人。房子不是很大，不过也基本够用。比较好的地方是每个月550USD的房租包了水电，我们平时可以用得比较随便。不好的地方是网络流量超过10G了之后竟然要按流量收费！！我现在已经不敢随便挂 winny 或者看 p2p 电视了……
Cornell 的校园很漂亮。学校的房子都是古典风格的，有些还爬满了常青藤——不愧是 Ivy 学校阿 orz 因为地处山顶，所以有不少可以远望的地方。校园里还有不少泉水、小瀑布，很多学生在休息的时候都喜欢过去走走。我本来打算到校园里转转，拍点照片。但由于这几周都比较忙，暂时抽不出时间。
总的来说，这里风景优美，远离闹市，是个安心读书的好地方
